Brass Prices in Montreal: Faucets, Fittings and Mixed Brass
Métal Longueuil buys brass from individuals, plumbers, and businesses across the Greater Montreal area at its yard at 2275 rue Garneau in Longueuil. No appointment, no minimum quantity, paid on the spot. Brass, the yellow copper-zinc alloy, hides in a lot of plumbing hardware and is worth far more than the steel it's often mixed with.

What we accept
Yellow brass
The most common brass: faucets, plumbing fittings, valves, handles, casings, and decorative hardware. Its characteristic yellow tint comes from its higher zinc content.
Red brass
Richer in copper with a pinkish tint, found in certain fittings, valves, and older pieces. Its higher copper content generally gives it better value than yellow brass.
Faucets and fittings
Faucets, valves, and fittings are accepted as-is. Pieces stripped of their steel components and stems earn a better grade.
What lowers the grade
Steel (handles, stems, internal springs), chrome plating, and plastic lower the grade. A chromed faucet is still brass underneath, it's accepted, just graded accordingly.
Preparation tips
- ✓Run a magnet over your pieces: anything that sticks contains steel and will lower the grade.
- ✓Remove steel stems, springs, and handles when it's easy.
- ✓Drain water from faucets and valves before weigh-in.
- ✓Keep brass separate from copper: mixed together, both get graded at the lower grade.
